A simple question with a complex answer.
Okay, not really.
My name is Joe, and I decided to start this…thing…simply because I wondered if I could. I challenged myself to write an entry every single day for one calendar year. I chose 2013 because, well, it was late 2012, and putting it off until 2014 or later would kind of defeat the purpose.
Now, if you’re asking why I made that challenge…now that’s an answer I don’t know that I’ve figured out just yet. If and when I do, I’ll probably write a post about it.
There is only one rule: write every day. To me, the day begins when I wake up and ends when I go to bed. This means I will probably be writing a lot of posts after midnight. “You didn’t write on January 28th!” you’ll say. Well, when you see a post marked “12:53 a.m., January 29th,” I’m still awake, I make the rules around here, and I say it counts. So there.
The title of this site (I hesitate to call it a “blog” because I have no idea what it might someday become…or not become, as it were) comes from my favorite song, “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” I thought it fit because the original idea for all of this came to me while laying in bed one night, and also, to be honest, because the name was the first one I came up with that wasn’t taken.
I hope you enjoy reading, or at the very least, don’t feel like you completely wasted your time. Baby steps.
